1827 LOUIS PANORMO FECIT 6 STRING GUITAR

In 2024 This lovely 197 year old Louis Panormo Fecit Guitar is in the workshop for restoration. The owner plays it and wants it returned to playing condition. In the past, The peghead has been damaged and repaired but the owner has no confidence in the repair, and for safety, tuning the guitar far lower than concert pitch.
The label, And a phone photo of the inside the guitar shows a cracked back bar. Not visible from the photo but that back bar was also not glued down and rattled a bit. A thin feeler gauge found this fault. The repair was done by applying hot hide glue through the sound hole with a very small brush and gently clamping the body of the instrument.
The damaged peg head, which seemed to be securely repaired and the repaired port side tuning machines. The tuning machine on the right has had a soldered repair to allow the gears to operate.
The tuning machines are by Rance and have been burnished to give a slightly rounded appearance.
The main damage to the peg head seems to be due to the soldered repair. Was the repair gone in situ, Possibly with resistance soldering? Certainly the neighbouring wood is burned and damaged.
The worm gear on That particular tuner is chipped, not allowing easy tuning.
