The Dubious Bros.   "Malmesbury's most famous band"

Based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, The Dubious Bros. are a band of five
playing a variety of music from the 20's to the new century;
old blues, soul, R&B, R&R, hints of C&W, reggae,
Blues Brothers covers, world music and folk, and more and more
written by members of the band. There is plenty to dance to but
also listening music with improvisations, when the mood is right.

The band plays birthdays, weddings, parties, town functions etc. For booking information contact

Christie Hennessy

Christie Hennessy, Irish singer and song writer died in London, on December 11th, 2007. The Dubious Bros. often play and have recorded one of his songs, Messenger Boy. Paul has known, played with and recorded with Christie for many years. He was a gentle man with a splendid way with words and music. His website is www.christiehennessy.com

Christie never learned to read or write and left school before he was 12. His first job was as a messenger boy.

We played Messenger Boy on January 19th 2008 and recorded it on our first album in 1998. This our version:
